An innocent man was led to the gallows. Great uncle Hawley did not poison Aunty Cora. That, of course, has always been my belief. I make no comment about the speculative and unsubstantiated allegations that he was involved in botched back street abortions.

You are, of course, quite safe. Crippen had a degree in homeopathy from the USA, which was not recognised in the UK.
I assume your own qualification can stand up better to scrutiny!
History may have been kinder to the good doctor than you think. In 1966, the then Prime Minister, Harold Wilson arranged for the body of executed Sir Roger Casement to be released to the Eire Government in the interest of Anglo Irish relations and the 50th anniversary of the Easter rising. In was disinterred from Pentonville Prison, driven to RAF Brize Norton where awaiting was the Irish Presiden's state aircraft. Arriving at Dublin, it was met by State President, De Valera,Prime Minister Lemass, the Irish Cabinet, Garda, the Irish armed forces, the Cardinal et all and then ceremoniously interred in the patriots' section at Glasnevin cemetry.
What was hushed up was a little reported comment by a former senior warder at Pentonville in that about 1927 in rebuilding, several bodies of executed prisoners were dug up because of building work and re-interred elsewhere. The staff were not particlar where they re-interred the bodies and this ex warder reckons that the body sent to Dublin was not Casement, but Crippen himself

I think it may be a bit late for rehabilitation. I watched Will Smith in "I am Legend" last night and a Dr Krippen (K not C - but I think that was so the virus invented can be called KV rather than CV ) was responsible for wiping out the human race - now that's bad press.
Saw this last night. Pretty impressive stuff BUT his wife dissappeared and wasnt ever seen again. If she was alive why did she just stand by and watch events unfold? If she did that she must really have hated him. An alternative to this of course is that he did in fact murder his wife and her lover and that he is in fact a double murderer.
